Areas are considered hazardous due to the presence of flammable gases, flammable vapours, combustible dust, or easily ignitable fibres or flyings. Such areas exist at petroleum refineries, chemical and petrochemical plants, spray painting booths, storage areas, and many other locations where potentially hazardous conditions occur.
