POWER GENERATION
International fire protection is experienced with power generation solutions, from large MW power stations and hydroelectric dams to containerised and small emergency power generators. IFP have installed and commissioned a range of fire protection and detection systems for the power generation industry including Fire & Gas detection systems, Clean Agent Suppression Systems and Engineered Water Mist Systems.
102MW Diesel Power Plant, Senegal, West Africa
IFP were engaged by a service supplier to the operator of 102 MW Diesel Power Plant in West Africa to assist in the replacement and upgrade of an obsolete and failing fire detection system.
Using a local subcontractor, IFP led an initial site survey to ascertain the status of the currently installed system and the specification of the equipment required to replace the system control equipment, whilst utilising the existing field equipment to provide a cost-effective solution to the power plant operator.
IFP provided a full documentation package including installation instructions, hook-up drawings, detection layouts and detailed cause and effect documents. IFP procured and preconfigured the fire detection control equipment in the UK, exported the equipment to West Africa and then led the team of local subcontractors remotely throughout the project to successful customer acceptance.
